You have to be a little mad to present someone living in the XXI century with music that resounded long ago in crowded churches and lavish palaces teeming with everyday life, fragrant with natural spices, coffee, perfumes and the scent of human bodies. For music was once a luxury that filled with ordered sound a world untouched by the constant hum of tyres and air conditioning, the rhythmic clatter of machinery and sounds from loudspeakers in every shop. Early music fades away each time we play it in concert. Perhaps that is why it is so close to human nature and moves us so profoundly that we have decided to devote our lives to it.
