About the event
Join us to celebrate Maria Skłodowska-Curie’s birthday!
What do we know about the woman who changed the history of science? Behind the world-famous name lies an extraordinary life, fascinating relationships and stories that deserve to be told anew.
On 4 November we invite you to Panattoni Cafe for a special celebration of “Maria Skłodowska-Curie’s Birthday” – an evening exploring the life of one of Poland’s most outstanding women and discovering a lesser-known side of this remarkable Nobel laureate.
What awaits you?
Letters brought to life – listen to extracts from the correspondence between Maria Skłodowska-Curie and Albert Einstein, collected in the book “Maria Skłodowska-Curie · Albert Einstein. Letters 1911–1932”. Two actors, in period-inspired costumes, will transport us into the world of thoughts and conversations shared by two extraordinary minds.
A gift for every attendee – you will receive a gift pack filled with special gifts
Celebrating around the table – refreshments will be provided for guests, with a birthday cake rounding off the evening.
The evening centres on the scientists’ private correspondence, collected in the publication “Maria Skłodowska Curie Albert Einstein LETTERS/1911-1932/” at the initiative of Dr Ewa Łabno-Falęcka and published by her Foundation for the Development of Education for Industry and the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Museum in Warsaw.
This event is for everyone who enjoys inspiring stories, values Poland’s scientific heritage and wants to see a familiar figure from a completely new perspective.
Join us to celebrate Maria Skłodowska-Curie’s birthday and discover a story that continues to inspire!
